About

We built our own businesses before we built anyone else’s.

Which is why we do the work ourselves instead of passing it around, why we measure instead of promise, and why we'll tell you when the problem isn't us.

Lainey Miceli

Before this, we built our own medical practices into multi-million-dollar companies. Not consulted for them. Owned them. We still own and run successful companies today. We started by doing this for clinics like ours. Now we do it for any business that depends on being found — stores, trades, offices and online shops.

We made payroll. We hired and re-hired front desk staff. We sat through the vendor calls. And we watched money leave the building every month on marketing nobody could properly explain.

We know what it feels like to be handed a report full of numbers that don't mean anything, and be expected to nod along because you're not supposed to understand it.

Multi-million

Dollar companies. What we built our own clinics into — some doing $250K+ a month — before we did this for other people.

Still owners

Not advised, not consulted. We signed the front of the paychecks — and we still do, at the companies we own today.

One team

We don't farm work out. The people who plan it are the people who do it.

An opinion, since you're here

What worries me about most businesses right now

Most of the owners I talk to are running a little Facebook advertising and some mailers, and that's about it. How they show up online isn't really on the list.

And I understand why. Nobody started a business to learn this. It changes constantly, it's boring, and every company that calls to explain it is also trying to sell you something. If I were in that chair I'd tune it out too.

But here's what's happening while it gets tuned out. People looking for exactly what you do are finding somebody else — quietly, with no record of it anywhere. And the leads you do pay for are getting harder to close, because when somebody looks you up and finds a thin page and old reviews, they just go elsewhere without telling you.

I don't think most of these businesses are going to fail. I think something slower happens. Getting a new customer costs a bit more every year. Growth flattens. The owner works harder for the same number. And the business is worth less when they finally go to sell it.

That's the part I'd want somebody to tell me. So that's what we tell people.

How that shaped the way we work

Five things we decided early, and haven't changed.

  • We measure instead of asserting

Anybody can tell you that you rank well. We show you a map of your own town with your real position at 169 points on it, before and after, using the same yardstick both times. You don't have to take our word for anything.

  • We'll tell you when it isn't us

If we run your checkup and the map is already green across your area, we'll say so and tell you to keep the company you've got. That happens more often than you'd think, and it's worth knowing either way.

  • We don't publish how we do it

The step-by-step is the thing you're paying for. Putting it on a website hands it to the business down the road, and then it's worth less to you than it was before.

  • We'd rather lose the fee than the reference

If your map isn't moving, we'll say so and tell you why. There's no contract, so you're never stuck paying for something that isn't working. We've been on the other side of a bad marketing contract and we're not interested in running one.

  • One team, in-house

We don't hand your work to another company. Most clients start with being found, and we only add more once that's working. Fix what's free first, then buy what's left.

Why we give the checkup away

Every marketing company says the same things.

Which means hearing them one more time from us shouldn't convince you of anything, and probably won't.

So the checkup exists because showing beats telling. It takes about three minutes, it costs nothing, and it tells you something true about your own business whether or not you ever speak to us again.

If it comes back looking fine, you've lost three minutes and gained some peace of mind. If it doesn't, at least now you know — and you'd want to know.
